An early map of Switzerland with north oriented at the bottom of the chart. The map was based on the work of Aegidius Tschudi, a historian of the Swiss Confederation. The title is engraved onto the top of an unusual three dimensional title box. French text on verso.

Condition: A

A crisp impression with gilt highlights on a bright sheet with a bunch of grapes watermark. There are few tiny spots of foxing, a professionally repaired centerfold separation and an adjacent crease at bottom, and marginal soiling.
