This is the first sheet of an enormous 12-sheet wall map of the Mediterranean. This sheet shows the Strait of Gibraltar and the coastlines of portions of Spain, Morocco and Algeria. Cities along the coasts are depicted as miniature castles, and there is good detail of anchorages, rocks, a depth soundings. The lovely title cartouche dedicates the map to Étienne François, Duc de Choiseul. This is the only sheet that includes a title cartouche - the remaining 11 sheets are simply titled by the sheet number.
