This map of northern South America gives great detail of the Amazon River and its tributaries. Possible connections between the Paraguay River and the Amazon or Sao Francisco Rivers are depicted. Numerous towns are identified, primarily along the coasts, with several notations throughout the map. Adorned with a drape-style cartouche and engraved by Charles Inselin.

A dark impression with contemporary outline color, a few spots of foxing, and a small hole in the border at top. There are small dampstains in the blank margins.
