This fine, architectural-style title page is embellished with statues of Mars, Pallas, King Louis XIV, Monseigneur le Dauphin, and Atlas with the world on his shoulders. At bottom are small vignettes of the battles of Cassel in 1677 and Seneffe in 1674, two French victories during the Franco-Dutch War.

A fine impression with wide margins and contemporary color with gilt highlights. There is light soiling, offsetting from an opposing page at upper left, and toning that is mostly confined to the margins. Extraneous creasing is limited to the top sheet edge.
