Three pictorial maps of Texas including:
A. Here Lies Texas, by John Randolph, dated 1951 (7.2 x 7.4"). This large postcard shows the globe with Texas occupying most of the Americas. Attractive and perhaps more clever than most of the “Texas Brags” maps. Text below the map states that Texans are "So Proud...So Rugged...So Independent...So Hospitable." Verso with an unused illustrated “Texas Brags” post card in “Texas Size.” Reference: Rumsey #8209. Condition: A hint of toning.
B. Follow the Koronado Trail! - Koronado Hotel Kourts - Joplin San Antonio Corpus Christi, circa 1950 (12.8 x 8.5"). This pictorial map was issued as a promotional tool for the hotel. It is filled with illustrations representative of the region including square dancing, cowboys, and livestock with red stars locating the three hotel locations where “Our Kourts Are Air-Conditioned by Refrigeration.” A table at right shows distances to the three locations from various U.S. cities. Condition: A clean and colorful example, issued folding.
C. Highland Lakes of Central Texas, by Art Anderson, dated 1951 (24.0 x 18.1"). There are three maps within this promotional brochure. On recto is the large "Central Texas and its Colorful Playlands" (18 x 24") that shows the area from San Antonio to Austin and Temple with the Highland Lakes highlighted in white. Includes numerous photo illustrations around the map. On verso are maps of "The Southern Highland Lakes Region" (11.8 x 17.5") and "The Northern Highland Lakes Region" (11.5 x 8.4"). Both maps with “Tex McLoch Symbol of the Highland Lakes” providing cartoon humor. Self-folding (4.2 x 9.0"). Condition: A clean and colorful example, issued folding.
