This interesting historical map focuses on the region around the ancient Greek regions of Boeotia, Megaris, and Attica. It extends to show parts of Phocis, Locris, Euboea, and Peloponesus. There is sparse detail other than mountains, rivers, and some place names, among them Athens, Thebes, Mt. Parnassus, and Delphi. Panels of French text flank the map, providing details of the area's history. A decorative frame-style border surrounds the map. Buy de Mornas was the Royal Geographer to the King in Paris and a respected historian with an interest in scientific matters pertaining to the earth and the planets. Published by Desnos.

A nice impression with contemporary color on deckle-edged paper with the watermark of a Maltese cross encircled in rosary beads. There are a few small spots and marginal soiling.
