This small map of North America was engraved by Samuel Neele for Evan's Geographical Grammar. The United States is shown confined to east of the Mississippi River with Louisiana and New Mexico to its west. Indian tribes, rivers and a few place names are located including two different Quiviras and Santa Fe. A note to the east of the Rocky Mountains indicates that "the sources these rivers are unknown" and the Great Basin is labeled "Unexplored Country."
