This densely engraved map is centered approximately on Zurich and is filled with graphic mountains, forests, lakes, rivers, roads and hundreds of towns. Zurich is shown as a miniature bird's-eye plan, as are several other large cities, such as Baden and Schaffhausen. A small inset at bottom left shows a portion of the Rhine River that serves as the boundary between Switzerland and Austria. At top right is a cartouche filled with the coats of arms of various towns and municipalities in the region. The decorative title cartouche includes mythological figures, such as Minerva, Mercury and Ceres. An alternate title appears above the map: "Magnificentissimis, Amplissimis, Nobilissimis, Prudentissimis, Consultissimis, Dominis Dominis Consulibus, ac Senatui Inclytae Reipublicae Tigurinae..."
