This map depicts the route of the Voyage of Aeneas based on the Aeneid, Virgil's epic Latin poem. The Trojan fleet is shown at bottom, and the route is marked with a dotted line. Important place names related to the journey are noted. Adorned with a decorative title cartouche. Engraved by A. Peyrounin.

Condition: A

A dark impression with contemporary outline color in the map and later color in the cartouche, on a bright sheet with the watermarks of a large coat of arms and the symbol for the Society of Jesus. There is an archivally repaired centerfold separation at bottom and an old wax stain just touching the top left corner of the image.
