This is a very uncommon version of Pierre Mortier's map of the region from the Mediterranean through the Persian Gulf published by Jacques Desray. Detail is omitted in favor of small Biblical depictions engraved within the map, including the Sermon on the Mount, Babylon, the Garden of Eden, Noah's Ark and others. Three tiny ships sail in the Persian Gulf.
