This crisply engraved map details the region in between the Caspian Sea and the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. It shows political divisions, place names, topographical information, and roads. A dotted line labeled "Ancient Course of the Jihon" extends from present-day Turkmenistan to Khiva. With the exception of a few cities and rivers, there is very little detail east of Kandahar. There are three distance scales at bottom left. Below the neatline is the imprint "London: Published by J. Cary, Engraver & Map-seller No. 181 Strand June 1st 1816."
