An attractive and highly detailed map of the South American continent featuring numerous illustrations of wildlife, vegetation, natural features, important buildings, and much more. It was created for the Moore-McCormack cruise lines and their routes are shown along the eastern coastline with stops at Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, and Buenos Aires. The side borders and title cartouche are flanked by vignettes highlighting points of interest including the Iguazu Falls, Christ the Redeemer statue, and Machu Picchu among others. Below the title is the inspirational quotation by liberator Simon Bolivar: "We shall not see, nor the generation which follows us, the triumph of America we are building."
