This fascinating pair of maps was issued by the Official Tourist Bureau, located at Weltevreden, Noordwijk 36 in Sawah Besar, Java. The first map centers on Bandung, the capital city of West Java, and the second covers the area around Garut and G. Tjikoeraj (Mount Cikuray), a stratovolcano and hiking destination. Both maps include a key in Dutch and English with important information for tourists, including the location of motor roads, footpaths, principal places, native villages, rail and tramway stations, fishponds, lakes, hot springs, hotels, and much more. There is exquisite topographical detail throughout, with altitudes noted on the mountains. First issued in 1923-24, the maps have been updated to 1928. Maps are dissected and backed in linen.
