This historical map of the state was drawn by Raymond Lufkin and highlights the many important homes built during the colonial period. Houses are concentrated along the coastline and include those belonging to John Adams, Paul Revere, John Cabot, and Governor Winslow to name a few. The remainder of the state is primarily filled with small illustrations and several quotations. Surrounded by a decorative border and title cartouche "which gives some idea of the hand labor on houses of the time." The verso features "Colonial Prototypes of House Beautiful Houses Built in the Years 1636-1820." Printed as a supplement to the House Beautiful magazine, which is still in existence today.
