This is the first edition map of San Francisco issued by the Southern Pacific Railroad for the Panama Pacific Exposition, which is prominently highlighted in red adjacent to the Presidio. The street-grid pattern of the city is laid out and both street car lines and the lines of the Southern Pacific are identified in red overprinting. The map features a large inset of the San Francisco area, a street index, and list of prominent institutions and buildings. Related tourist text on verso. Self-folding into pictorial wrappers (4.0 x 9.0”).
