This attractive map covers the Portuguese colonies of Congo and Angola on the west coast of Africa from about Port Gentil to Lobito. The land is filled with mountains, rivers, and forests with several place names particularly along the Congo River (Rio Zaire) that made up the important trade network that supplied slaves, ivory and minerals. The ocean is filled with an interesting title cartouche surrounded by natives, lions, ostriches, elephants and monkeys.
