This detailed plan of the French Mediterranean city depicts the siege of Toulon by the British fleet in August 1707 during the War of the Spanish Succession. There is excellent detail of the fortifications, positions and movements of the troops, and named ships in the harbor. The inset plan at bottom left shows the advancing of the guards. A compass rose in the harbor orients north to the top left.
On verso are panoramic views of Nantes, Nancy, Orleans, and Orange that have been trimmed to the neatlines and pasted onto the sheet.

A dark impression with some extraneous creasing along the centerfold. Each of the plans on verso has a small hole in the sky.
