This decorative map is filled with impressive detail of Portugal with mountains, forests, rivers, roads, cities, fortifications, and villages all carefully located, with a legend at top left. Numerous ships sail in the ocean, and the map is further embellished with two superb cartouches, including a title cartouche featuring Portugal's royal arms held aloft by putti.

A crisp impression with modern coloring on a lightly toned sheet that has been backed in archival tissue to repair short centerfold separations at top and bottom. There are dampstains along the sides of the sheet and chips in the corners of the sheet.
