This colorful cartographic game was issued by the firm of Leon Saussine, a French specialist in educational and parlor games. It consists of 12 boards with pasted-on pictorial maps showing North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Oceania, each in two parts. Each board includes eight slots where a numbered illustrated tile can be placed. The rules of the game appear to be similar to bingo, with each player attempting to complete their card as numbers are randomly called out. The maps are filled with charming illustrations, with an emphasis on flora and fauna, flags, and inhabitants of each region. In North America, there are images of a beaver dam, wild turkeys, the Flatiron Building, Indigenous peoples, cacti, and the Niagara Falls. Among other interesting sights are a Guarani tribesman and a gaucho in South America; a view of the Cape Town surrounded by wildlife in Africa; Japanese temples and Hindus in Asia; a Spanish bullfight and Russian peasant in Europe; and a kangaroos and Aborigines in Oceania. Size refers to each individual board. The lot also includes a pink original drawstring pouch and a cardboard tray for organizing the various pieces. The piece numbered 88, which features a kangaroo and appears on board #12, is missing from this example and has been replaced with a duplicate of the piece numbered 64. This example does not include the original cardboard box with chromolithographic illustrated cover or the circular cardboard counters.
