This Swiss map shows the evangelical missions throughout the world, published by the Basel Evangelical Mission. The map is color-coded to indicate Christian regions in white, Islamic regions in gray, and pagan regions in black, where the vast majority of the missions are located. The map is surrounded by vignettes depicting exotic people and animals from North America, South America, Asia, and Africa. A newly converted man is shown kneeling at bottom center. Matthew 28:18-20, which encourages proselytizing, is included on an open bible that radiates below the title. Lithographed by H. Baschlin in Schaffhausen.
