This is Henry George Bohn's reissue of James Gillray's caricature map dramatizing England's concerns over a French invasion. The crude scene shows England take the form of George III (John Bull) who is "bombarding the Bum-Boats" (near Sussex) while his foot (Kent) appears poised to kick France. George III is further adorned by a nightcap (Northumberland) and fancy coat tails (Wales). France is also in the shape of a face though much cruder with Paris detached and isolated on the "Isle of France." The original publication information is shown at lower left, signed in the plate by Hannah Humphrey and drawn by John Schoebert.
