This extremely rare map of Lombardy is centered on Milan, with the River Po below and Lake Como above. The map is filled with small towns and cities, and Milan is depicted with a miniature plan of the city. The map is adorned with an interesting strapwork title cartouche featuring a pair of maidens, while a second cartouche at bottom dedicates the map to the Duke of Feria. This splendid map is from Magini's important atlas - the first printed atlas of Italy, which was published posthumously by his son Fabio Magini in 1620, 1632 and 1642.

A nice impression with full contemporary color on a bright sheet with light soiling. The map has been fully archivally backed with tissue, repairing a small hole along the centerfold near the bottom of the image.
