This lot includes two Russia maps from Mallet's excellent collection of miniature maps. Both sheets have French text on verso:
A. Moscov, hand color (4.2 x 5.8"). This sheet features a surprisingly intricate plan view of Moscow, considering its size. It names different districts of the city: Zaargord, Cremenela, Kaitaigorod, Skoradon, and Strelisa Salvoda. The surrounding countryside is nicely depicted, with figures and livestock in the foreground.
B. Moscovie, black & white (4.0 x 5.7"). This map covers Russia in Europe, spanning from an inchoate version of Novaya Zemlya's coast south to the Black and Caspian seas. The drape-style title cartouche incorporates a crown.
