This map identifies the locations of lost treasures throughout California, which are described on a parchment at top right. The treasures include $2,000,000 of gold and silver from a galleon that sank in Santa Barbara Channel, $30,000 of gold in Yuba County, and numerous lost mines. Vignettes of a pistol-wielding robber and a peg-legged miner decorate the map. The compass rose is in the shape of a wagon wheel and gives a guide to old Spanish treasure symbols that are featured in the border of the map. The list of lost treasures was researched and compiled by Dorothy Morris, and the map was created by Richard Coyne. Published by Morris Enterprises.
