This fine map of Greece and its surroundings was based on the work of Giacomo Gastaldi. It is very detailed and includes the islands in the Aegean Sea. The map is embellished by a sailing ship and a large ornate strapwork cartouche. The seas are fully and laboriously stipple engraved. This is the second state, with some updated stippling. Latin text on verso.

References: Van den Broecke #146.2; Zackarakis #1446.

Condition: B+

Full contemporary color on a sheet with the crossed arrows watermark commonly found on Ortelius maps. The green pigment has begun to turn brown, but the paper is still supple. There is an old paper repair along the centerfold at bottom on verso, repairing some separations. There are a few small abrasions along the centerfold, and faint dampstains and foxing mostly confined to the edges of the sheet.
