An attractive copper engraving of North and South America. Most notable for its depiction of the northwest, which is largely blank. 'New Albion' is located in present day northern California and the 'Fume d'Occindente' flows from an inland lake directly into the Pacific. The Colorado River is named the 'Ouiquintas'. Decorative title cartouche. Issued uncolored and someone has begun to color it, with the border and a couple of areas in full color. Tiny scattered worm holes and trimmed to within 1/8" at binding side, else very clean.
