Scarce printing from the press of Francois de Fradin, with commentaries of the major Decrees of Pope Boniface VIII (1294-1303) in which the Pontiff greatly expanded the temporary powers of the Holy See, demanded absolute authority of Europe, and dramatically increased his family's holdings. His powerful political opponents caused his arrest for heresy; he died under house arrest in the Vatican in 1303. Text leaf printed in black and red ink.
