This is an early edition of the first of two maps of Austria by Ortelius. It is a handsome map with numerous spurious lakes and the course of the rivers Drau, Mur, Gurk and Lavant badly miss-drawn. The rivers in the north are much more accurately represented. Oval title cartouche and scale of miles with calipers. Surrounded in a strong border and muted original color.
