A very detailed and early plan of Tokyo. It is based on Bellin's map of the same title, which was in turn patterned on the Scheuchzer/Kaempfer map of 1702. The grounds surrounding the Edo Palace depict an imaginary, French-style, formal garden. Decorative title cartouche.
