Mitchell's second edition of this map now shows Idaho extending to Dacotah Territory and in the process clipping Nebraska's panhandle to today's configuration. Still names the PONY EXPRESS route. Locates numerous Indian tribes, forts and a trading post. County development in Kansas and Nebraska is limited to the eastern edge, with several counties added to Nebraska over the 1860 edition. Colorado now shows numerous early county configurations. Nicely colored and a good impression. A fine example of this map and a great companion to the previous lot.
