An attractive map of the Americas. In North America, the western coast reflects the explorations of Capt. Cook with Alaska emerging in an early form. The United States is shown confined east of the Mississippi River. Several islands are depicted in the Pacific, including Hawaii. This map is based on the work of Robert de Vaugondy and here updated by his successor, Delamarche. Text panel normally found at right has been trimmed off.
