This handsome, detailed map, in two parts, is based on the style popularized by Frederick de Wit. The southern part of the country is the focus of the main map, while the northern part is depicted in a large inset at top. There is amazing detail of the fjords and coastal islands. A key appears at right inside a decorative cartouche. The large, elaborate title cartouche is surrounded by mermaids, cherubs, and the coat of arms.
