This handsome miniature maps presents a simple but elegant ancient Asia with a scattering of place names and topographical features. In Regionon des Sines, the Great Wall is prominently depicted and the mythical Lake Chiamay appears unnamed with five rivers flowing south. Undefined coastlines appear to the north of present-day Honshu. The northern coastline of Australia is shown as connected to Papua New Guinea. Below the map is a charming vignette landscape scene that includes camels, robed figures, and a title cartouche flanked by putti and sphinx-like creatures.
