A lovely map of Japan and Korea correctly showing Korea as a peninsula. Beautiful, dark impression with great color. It is extremely detailed and colored by regions showing towns, roads, rivers, lakes and mountains. This edition features the wider cartouche with the title on one line and the lengthy notation related to Korea excerpted from Captain Hall's Account of a Voyage of Discovery to the West Coast of Korea, in H.M.S. Aleeste and the sloop Lyra in 1816. A very desirable edition of this map.
