A very large and robust engraving consisting of two maps, each approximately 23.5 x 19", here joined. Covers all of Europe to the Caspian Sea and the Urals in the north, and extends to show part of North America. Very decorative and large title cartouches. Engraved vignettes show whalers harpooning a whale from rowboats. A very stunning example of the mapmaker's art.
