A great folio sheet containing separate plans for five of the Dutch polders. This rich farm land was created by draining shallow lakes and sea inlets and was one of the great feats of engineering in the 17th century. The Beemster Polder was completed in 1612, Purmer in 1622, and the Wormer polder in 1626. Each plan with it's own decorative cartouche. From the French edition of the Mercator-Hondius atlas, engraved by Petrus Kaerius.
