Fine example of Colton's map published by Johnson & Browning, circa 1860. The continent is practically devoid of detail except for the coastlines and the settled regions of New South Wales and the vicinity of Perth and Victoria. Counties are named in Western Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales and another table provides the dates of nine important explorations. Surrounded in Colton's characteristic scroll border.
