Two fine engravings of the city as seen from across the river. First is an uncolored steel engraving (7.8 x 5.5"). It was drawn by J.W, Hill and engraved by Wellstood & Peters for the Ladies' Repository, circa 1855. It is a reduced version of a large lithograph issued by the Smith Brothers. Second is a French view, drawn and engraved by Boullemier and published by Dufour, circa 1867. It is a hand colored copper engraving (5.8 x 4.5").
