Former, by Zvi Dor-Ner with W. G. Scheller, is the companion volume to the PBS Series. Columbus' story is a fulcrum of social, political, and intellectual history. Contents are lavishly illustrated with period drawings and photo, both B/W and color. Bibliography, notes, index, 370 pp. 1992, hardcover. Latter is the story of Columbus's life as told by master storyteller, historian and sailor Samuel Eliot Morision. Index, 680 pp., folding maps. 1942, hard bound with dustjacket.
