Published the year after Gerard Mercator's death by his son Rumold, the map is attributed directly to the elder by Moorland and Banister. It is a fine map with a beautiful cartouche with original color. Further embellished with fancy script lettering. Keys locate 61 important places. Seas are fully engraved in stipple.

Crisp, early impression with wide margins. Two old paper repairs on verso in bottom margin. A few spots, still very good. Latin text on verso with manuscript underlining, no show through.
