Large world map on Mercator's projection segmented and mounted on linen panels, as issued. First published in 1883, this edition with "additions to 1889." Good detail along coasts and in oceans and a good deal of Antarctica is delineated. A huge and rarely seen map of the world.

Condition: B

Generally remarkable condition for a map of this size. Evenly toned, a little stronger along one fold. Four 4" oil stains at left side of map. Two trips neatly marked in manuscript by a previous owner.
