Splendid example of Blaeu's copper engraving from his atlas devoted to Scotland after surveys by Timothy Pont. Covers Lothian and centered on Edinburgh. Map is covered with topographical detail, forests and castles. It is decorated with three decorative cartouches including a dedication with a beautiful coat of arms in full color. Large compass rose and three ships sail in the Firth of Forth. Latin text on verso.

Overall very good with nice original coloring with wide margins and even toning. Light foxing just into border at side. A few small tears in margins closed with archival tape.
