Bird's-eye view of Fort St. David, complete with cannons and gallows located in Paliacatta. This town, now known as Pulicat, and it is located on the shores of Pulicat Lake adjoining the Bay of Bengal. Paliacatta was once an important trading post of the Verenigde Oostindische Compagnie (Dutch East India Company). This view was included in Volume III to accompany "The True & Exact Description of the Most Celebrated East - India Coast of Malabar and Coromandel and the Island of Ceylon, with all adjacent Countries" by Philip Baldaeus.
