Interesting pair of maps by different mapmakers. The map of the Pacific Islands was made by Mason & Payne in 1890. This map has nineteen different small charts of various islands and island groups. Includes: Hawaii, Fiji, Salomon Islands, Admiralty Islands, Tonga and Tonga-Tabou, as well as Pitcairn Island among others. The map of the Indian Islands was made in 1835 by the SDUK. This map is filled with eleven small charts of the various island groups. This is one of the few 19th century maps to provide detail of some of these islands including Madagascar; Amirantes; Seychelle Archipelago; Socotra; Rodrigue or Diego Ruys; Chagos Group; Keeling Isles; Mauritius and Bourbon; Lakadive and Maldive Islands; Nicobar and Andaman Islands; and Kerguelen or Desolation Island.
