Moritz Rugendas (1802-1858) traveled extensively throughout Brazil on two extended expeditions. A trained painter, these lithographed examples of his art are considered as important documentation in the study of Brazilian life at the beginning of the nineteenth century. This remarkable work was published in German and French. Four folio sheets (13.5 x 20") with composite head & shoulder portraits of Brazil Indians.
