Complete with all twenty double-page maps (35" x 22.3") representing the field work done in 1873 through 1876 and covering the entire State of Colorado and adjacent portions of Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. Ten of the maps are in full color. The first four maps are on a scale of twelve miles to one inch, each covering the whole State of Colorado; the next twelve maps (six topographical and six geological, of identical areas,) are on a scale of four miles to one inch, with each covering 2.5° of longitude and 1.25° of latitude. The next two are detailed geological sections. The last two sheets are beautifully rendered panoramas from around the state. Included are Pike's Peak, the San Juans, and Twin Lakes, plus four others. Lithographed by Bien. Dated 1877 on the title page, but not published until March 3, 1879. Seldom seen as a complete atlas.
