One of the most handsome maps of South America with stunning calligraphy title and handsome borders. Two sheets, unjoined, would be 30.5" x 42" if joined. Bottom with three vignettes showing cross sections: "Section of the Road from La Guayra to Caracas", "Section of the Andes..." and "Section of South America from West to East....". There is also an index titled Civil Divisions, Population and Extent.

Very lovely hand coloring on thick paper. Very faint offsetting at bottom opposite title and a few very light spots, otherwise a remarkable example in near fine condition. Two short, repaired marginal tears.
