This is a slightly smaller edition of Mortier's map of the region from the Mediterranean through the Persian Gulf. Detail is omitted in favor of small Biblical depictions engraved within the map, including the Sermon on the Mount, Babylon, the Garden of Eden, Noah's Ark and others. Pictorial scale of miles surmounted by a lion and a lamb with a serpent in an apple tree in the background. Three tiny ships sail in the Persian Gulf with a compass rose.
