Charming miniature map of the northern coast of New Guinea with the Solomon Islands. This map is considered the first separate map of New Guinea. A prior map by de Jode in 1593 also focused on the region, but was largely fanciful. Engraved by Petrus Kaerius (Pieter van den Keere). Strapwork title cartouche. Latin text on verso.
