Large map of the continent with the typical inaccuracies of 18th century cartography. While the map conforms to the twin lake configuration for the source of the Nile, a lengthy paragraph on the map purports to provide evidence on the accuracy of this theory. The large title cartouche is filled with interesting imagery including the pyramids, ivory trading, the source of the Nile, a troop of monkeys, kings and chiefs, and angels bringing salvation to the continent.

Good impression and color. Old repair on verso to lower centerfold, else very good.
